Writing! I've spent most of my adult life teaching martial arts and yet life is such that I find myself writing novels, though I prefer to think of myself as a storyteller because the story is more important, at least to me. Broken writing can be fixed, edited, and worked through. Broken stories need more than time and effort to revive.

I won't lie to you and say I enjoy writing - not in the traditional sense in that it's fun. However, building worlds and telling stories is more fulfilling than almost anything else. Being a parent and teaching share the same rarefied air as storytelling; all of which have changed my life - all for the better - in myriad, and dramatic ways.

Fantasy and faith are my genres. I have plans for non-fiction work as well but most of that is instructional books on Tai Chi. My degree is in religion and I do my utmost to draw from the oldest stories; the kind that find ways to resonate with the unseen. My characters drive the narrative forward and none of them are perfect, especially if I try to sell them that way on the page.
